WORK LOCALLY - THINK GLOBALLY
In today's scenario, the teaching-learning process has evolved into many dimensions. The teachers are no longer playing their role in a pre-defined manner rather take up a new role called facilitator. The idea of modern teaching has not emerged very long ago but recently it has created several road maps for constructive teaching. Teaching in the present scenario is really challenging where we are dealing with students who are native to technology. We are teaching tomorrow's skills to the present-day students. In this context, we may work locally, but we need to address the Global challenges. Technology has grown tremendously during the past decade and the students are evolving day by day and get nurtured by technological advancements. As an evolving teacher, it becomes our responsibility to identify the benchmarks in teaching to our students with a global perspective.
What should be done?
As teachers we need to get updated. For a teacher, learning should be a lifelong process. We need to get updated with the latest technology advancement especially related to the teaching process.
The teachers need to demonstrate skills in order to catch up with the global scenario. Teachers should be well updated with the latest ICT tools and get trained from global trainers. Teachers can enroll and complete courses from various MOOC platforms like COURSERA, SWAYAM, NPTEL, EDx MIT open Courseware and GOOGLE Educational initiatives, where one can get educated and trained from the latest technology. As the process evolves, the teacher will understand the global scenario working from their own local place.
What will be the outcome?
Today's children don't require learned teachers rather they require only learning teachers. As your new journey of learning begins, you get evolved from an average teacher into an inspiring teacher. Your market value increases exponentially as your skill set increases. You get transformed into a GLOBALLYACCLAIMED teacher.
To conclude, we need teachers who can work from Samrajpet in Bangalore and yet teach students from San Francisco. We need teachers who can be a bridge between a digitally divided society. We need teachers who can create a better world for our children without compromising with quality.
